The Heart of our convening
Our gala is not only a fundraising event, but also a joyous celebration of our collective impact. Attendees will hear from our program leaders about their team’s work, witness impactful testimonials about how our work has changed lives, and enjoy exciting traditional African music and dance. Not only that, but attendees will be able to participate in our silent auction, entering for a chance to win some amazing prizes and experiences. All proceeds collected from this event will go towards the expansion of Oregon’s first culturally specific preschool for African immigrants and refugees. By increasing our capacity with two additional classrooms, we can serve more children in a culturally affirming environment that supports both social-emotional health and academic readiness. This work addresses systemic disparities and lays the foundation for better lifelong health outcomes for African immigrants and refugees.
Our Mission
The AfRegon Gala brings together community, culture, and compassion to support CAIRO’s mission of building a brighter future for African immigrant and refugee families. This evening celebrates collective impact and raises vital funds to expand our culturally specific preschool—ensuring every child has the foundation to thrive.
